Through the implementation of the mini-flood optimization and scheduling, the Three Gorges Power Station successfully achieved power generation in 2013. The reporter learned from the China Three Gorges Corporation on the 9th that the optimized scheduling of the Three Gorges Power Station increased the power generation by 4.968 billion kwh.
In June 2013, the Three Gorges Reservoir fell to flood control level, and the flood prevention work in 2013 was fully started. In the flood control period during the flood season, the maximum peak shaving was 14,000 cubic meters per second, the peak shaving rate was 28.6%, and the cumulative floodwater storage capacity was 11.837 billion cubic meters. Through the role of the Three Gorges Reservoir in blocking the flood peaks, the maximum discharge flow rate is controlled to 35,000 cubic meters per second, and the water levels at the downstream Shashi Station and Chenglingji Station do not exceed the warning level. At the same time, the ship evacuation scheduling was implemented twice, using flood gaps, timely adjusting the discharge flow from the Three Gorges, and timely evacuating 360 ships of small and medium-sized vessels during the flood.
In order to make full use of flood water resources and improve the power generation efficiency of the power station, the Three Gorges Group has carried out 5 small flood optimization dispatches with cumulative power generation of 4.92 billion kWh, among which the 4.98 billion kWh of the Three Gorges Power Station and 222 million kWh of the Gezhouba Power Station. .
As of December 31, the Three Gorges Power Station continued to operate safely for 2,693 days. The cumulative power generation reached 711.97 billion kWh, equivalent to 561 million tons of carbon dioxide emission reductions and 6.73 million tons of sulfur dioxide emissions. With the full commissioning of power station units, the Three Gorges Power Station has become the world’s largest installed hydropower station and an important clean energy base in China.
While vigorously implementing the optimal flood dispatching, the construction and operation of the other aspects of the Three Gorges Project are in good condition. In 2013, the unit operation of the Three Gorges Power Station was safe and stable, and the follow-up construction of ship lifts and other follow-up projects was carried out in an orderly manner. The comprehensive benefits of flood control, drought relief, navigation, power generation, and replenishment were significantly brought into play.
